Polling parties set out to distant destinations

UTTARKASHI, 10 May:
Polling parties today departed for polling centers situated in remote areas.
Osla, the distant polling centre in the district is 27 kms on foot and comes under Purola assembly constituency. The parties have left for Sirga, Kasla, Taluka, Gangaad and Liwadi, the polling centres 15 to 27 kms from the town. While 57 polling parties would depart for Gangotri, Purola and Yamunotri assembly constituencies on 11 May, the remaining 340 parties would leave on 12 May for the other three assembly constituencies.
Observer Parshuram inspected the strong room on the occasion of departure of the polling parties. On the other hand, Dr Purushottam, District Election Officer ordered the In charge and Nodal Officers to set up a counter for lodging FIRs against officials who evade election duty.
He also directed the zonal and central magistrates to notify the election control room about the arrival of polling parties at their destination.
