Pauri, 10 May: SP Ajay Rautela called a meeting today of police officers and men to issue directions for the peaceful and flawless conduct of the coming general elections. The SP emphasised the need for good behaviour towards the public and stressed the fact that duties were not over as long as the EVMs did not reach the headquarters safely. He added that in view of the elections, barriers had been erected on the UP border near Kalagarh, Koudia and other places. Forces have come from Rajisthan to help in the election duties. The RPF and PAC have also been deployed. After the delimitation, there are six legislative assemblies in the Pauri Parliamentary Constituency. Forces for three assembly constituencies will go from Pauri, while the remaining three will get forces from Kotdwara. The Police Department seems to be taking no chances whatsoever, considering this is a closely contested election and the constituency has become very sensitive.
