Uniyal utilises CM’s ‘personal’ visit to advantage
Monday, 19.07.2010, 10:48am (GMT+5.5)

By OUR STAFF REPORTER
Mussoorie, 18 July:
Chief Minister Ramesh Pokriyal Nishank’s private visit here proved to be a boon for Nagar Palika Chairman OP Uniyal as he availed of the opportunity to discuss several issues with him.
The Palika Chairman sought construction of the proposed auditorium here in PPP mode. The Chief Minister immediately called up the Chief Secretary and Secretary, Urban Development, to hold a meeting with Uniyal on Monday and discuss the matter.
He also asked them to issue orders for the construction of private parking at the Sylverton Ground. He also scrutinised the progress report of the proposed playground at Bhiladu. He told the Chairman that the auditorium ought to be multi-purpose so that cultural programmes could also be organised for tourists.
Uniyal disclosed that the auditorium would have parking space for about 150 vehicles and could also be utilised as a wedding hall. He said that the management of the hall would be with the Palika.
The Chief Minister, taking serious note of tourists’ complaints about the pathetic condition of Kempty Fall, also asked Tehri DM, Sachin Kurve, to look into the matter and do the needful. He asked him to take action against the officer responsible for the conditions there.
