Cong protests Nishank’s year long rule

By Bimal Kumar Pande Haldwani, 27 June: Congress workers held a meeting at the Swaraj Ashram, here, and demonstrated against the alleged land scams, power cuts and water crisis during the one year of BJP rule under Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. Speaking on the occasion, State General Secretary Mahesh Sharma and former MLA Harish Durgapal said the wheel of development had jammed and corruption was at its peak during the Nishank led BJP rule in the state. Congress workers demonstrated by tying black bands on their arms. The so called achievements being propagated by the chief minister were a pack of disinformation and was aimed to mislead the people, they claimed. The only success of the government was the invention of new methods of scamming the people, alleged the speakers. Present on the occasion were Hemant Bagadwal, Rajendra Khanwal, Hema Arya, Umesh Kabadwal, Rajendra Singh Negi, Harendra Bora, Khajan Pande, Abid Hussain and others.
