Mahima Chaudhary campaigns for Cong in Ramnagar

Famous film actress Mahima Chaudhary campaigned for the Congress candidate for the Pauri Lok Sabha seat, Satpal Maharaj, here, today.
Congress organised a public meeting at Gautam Nagar, Maldhan Chaur in favour of Satpal Maharaj. There was a large crowd gathered to see film actress Mahima Chaudhary. Mahima arrived there at the last moment. As Mahima arrived, the crowd almost went out of control in the attempt to see her. Everybody wanted to see Mahima. There was near chaos.
Mahima addressed the public and appealed to them to vote for Congress candidate Satpal Maharaj. She also sang a song, ‘I Love My India’, during her speech. People demanded an encore, but had to be disappointed due to her busy schedule.
Before the arrival of Mahima Chaudhary, Congress candidate Satpal Maharaj also addressed the public. He said that the Congress was the only one party that favoured the Dalits and economically backward. He said that the Union Government led by the Congress had granted a lot of money for the special component plan to Uttarakhand, but the State BJP government is not using it properly. This, he said, proved that BJP was not interested in solving the problems of the Dalit community. He said that Uttarakhand was known as the Energy State, but people were facing a lot of problems due to the power cut. There was no electricity. All development works remained incomplete in the state. He said the achievements of the UPA and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had climaxed in the Nuclear Deal with the US. Now, thecountry was included in the Nuclear Club of the world. It would now be easier to produce electricity from Nuclear power. It was a big achievement. He promised the people health insurance and cheap grains after formation of the Congress government at the Centre.
The State President of the Congress, Yashpal Arya, addressed the public and appealed for votes in favour of Satpal Maharaj on 13 May. He said that the Congress was a party supporting the ordinary people and of all religions. It fought against communal powers. He recalled the party’s contribution to the freedom of the country. He appealed to all to vote for Satpal Maharaj in the election.
Mantri Prasad Naithani, Yogamber Singh Rawat, Sanjeev Arya, Nishant Papney, Pushkar Durgapal, Deepti Bhardwaj, Sanjay Negi, Mohd Akram, Anand Pande, Pradeep Puthiya, Inder Lal, Shankar Lal, Prakash Papney, Shivraj Singh Rawat, Lalit Mohan Bisht, Vinay Paladiya, Krishna Latwal, etc., were present at the public meeting.
