Police nab thieves of foreigner’s goods

By AJAY RAMOLA MUSSOORIE, 30 Apr: In a quick and effective response, Kempty Police nabbed the culprits of the theft that occurred on 28 April in which a British national’s belongings, including a 71/2 KV generator and metal that he had got to build a poultry house and animal cages. Andy, who had recently rented a field for his animal support and farming activities, unloaded his truck of belongings near Kandi Khal but, to his shock, the next morning the generator and angle irons were found stolen. The report was filed at Kempty police station against unidentified persons on 28 Apr. According to Station Incharge Kamal Singh Makhloga and Pratap Singh Gusain, SI, the Kempty Police took up this theft as a challenge and spread and checked all around Kempty, Vikas Nagar and Yamuna Bridge for the perpetrators. The thieves, feeling the heat, fell into the psychological trap when they tried to shift the stolen goods from a cow shed near Gaon Khet. A patrolling police party that heard the clanking of metal, caught the thieves, who were four in number. They also seized the Mahindra Utility no. UK 07 CA 1102 used in the process. The four culprits, Dinesh (33), Munna (31), Mukesh (20) and Mahendra (30) along with a helper from Saharanpur were booked under section 179 of IPC and sent to jail. The SSP has announced a reward of Rs 2500 for the team. Incharge Kamal Singh Makhloga, KS Chauhan and others were present on the occasion.
