Shop destroyed in explosion

By OUR STAFF REPORTER KASHIPUR, 29 Apr: A shop was badly damaged and a youth was seriously injured in an explosion that took place, here, late on Tuesday night. A dog squad was also called by police after investigating the site of the occurrence but in vain. The injured youth has been admitted to hospital. In village Ginnikhera, Satpal Singh Saini was running a tea shop. On Tuesday night, a powerful explosion occurred and the shop was gutted. His servant Hariom was sleeping on the roof, which collapsed after the explosion. Hariom was admitted to hospital. Villagers somehow managed to control the fire. The explosion was of great intensity, even two shops nearby were damaged. Circle Officer Jagdish Chandra and SSI KR Arya called the dog squad after investigating the site of occurance but failed to conclude anything. No case has been registered, so far. Even the LPG cylinder lying in the shop was found safe. Police are investigating the case. A loss of approximately Rs 6 lakhs was suffered by the owner.
