Encroachments removed on Mussoorie Mall Road
Friday, 19.03.2010, 11:02am (GMT+5.5)

By Sunil Sonker
Mussoorie, 18 Mar:
The anti-encroachment drive began on the Mall Road, here, today.
Palika officials were seen once again favoring the rich shopkeepers and firmly acting against poor vendors, as it was their goods that were confiscated.
Mussoorie police station in charge Mahesh Joshi was angry at the slow pace of the anti-encroachment drive and said that he could not spare force for the drive on a daily basis and the Palika had to find a permanent solution.
The poor vendors were angry, especially at the Chairperson of the anti-encroachment drive, Ward Member Jasbeer Kaur, and pledged to vote her out of power in the next elections due to her ‘anti-poor’ stand.
Jasbeer Kaur said that all were equal in the eyes of the committee and the drive would not stop till it achieved complete success in the removal of encroachment from the Mall Road.
